Our online design system shows you a visual preview on the screen as you are designing or also a ‘Preview’ which can be done in the form of an online proof or emailed to you as a pdf.
Any on screen proof or preview will appear in low resolution and may make your images appear differently to how they will print. The files are not as high resolution as the prints will be, this is due to us having to display large file information quickly so you do not have to wait long for our systems to work! If we were to show all our customers with a high resolution proof online, the data transfer to do so may take a long time to load.
As we will say to all our customers, if colour is a big part of your calendars and you would like to check that they will print correctly, we will always recommend a printed proof rather than an online proof! See the below comparison of the difference between printed and online colour so you can see the difference!
Visual Markers – Quality Settings
In the design studio, we have a visual marker informing you if your image is not of sufficient quality for printing. It is these markers you should use to determine the quality of your image and not the resulting screen preview!
Our image markers, show the image quality using ‘green’ for when the image will print of the correct quality, amber when the images may appear low resolution and a red warning for a definite low resolution file. Despite the image ‘looking’ low resolution, these markers determine whether the images are the right quality or not
We recommend that the GREEN tick is on all of your images to get the best results:
