Our design studio helps you design your products so that they get correctly printed. When it comes to printing, we require a specific setup for your files to make sure that the final print is the best quality that it can be. We print with something called ‘Bleed’ which is a specific amount of space around your design which will get trimmed down once it has been printed. We have included this into the design studio as a guide of where your images should be.
In our design studio, you will see a red and green dotted line near to the edge of the design:
- Red dotted line: All text and images which go past this red line are at risk of being cut off when printed so it is essential for all text and images to be inside the green area.
- Green dotted line: Everything inside the green line will be printed – this is your ‘Safe’ area and will make the design look better if everything is within this zone
- Black outside line: This line is the full bleed edge, so if you want an image or colour to print off the page, then make sure you set your image/ colour to reach this outside line. This has been set up for each individual product and will vary in size
