Firstly, don't panic!
Once you have finished your design in the design studio and you go to click ‘Save Template’ you may then see a pop-up box come up onto the screen. Please note that this does not always show up and if you have used the design studio before, you will most likely not have made any changes to the templates and will not see this message. It is important to note that this is not something to worry about when this message appears! Most of our customers panic when they see this message as it highlights that there is an issue with their design when they think it looks fine!
This message looks like this:
This message shows up when:
- You have an image missing on one of the pages.
- You have clicked and dropped an image onto the page rather than dragging it across and then changed the image size (On top of the box which says ‘Replace with Your Image’
- You have left Sample Text on one or all the pages.
- You have created a text box and then not used it anymore, causing it to remain blank and unseen on the page.
Once you have seen this message and have seen the pages affected by this, we recommend you click ‘Make Changes’. You can then go to the affected pages, check the ‘Layers’ tab so that you can see the different parts of the image as shown below:
You can see here that there are the Month options which you must leave the same, as well as layers of your text and images. There is a test that you can do quickly to check for blank boxes which is to click the eye icon at the left of the layers tab, this will then hide the layer and you will not be able to see it on the page. Once you have checked that something visible was on the screen, has now disappeared, you can then click the eye icon again, which will make it reappear on the page. If you repeat this process down the layers tab list, you should then find a blank layer which you cannot see appear and reappear on the screen. It is important that you then check this is definitely blank before you then click on the bin icon to remove the layer.
You can then repeat this process on all affected pages before attempting to re save again. This message will then disappear ONLY if you have removed each blank box on the page. IF you still get this message but the number of pages with issues have reduced, we recommend you check back through these pages to make sure that everything blank has definitely been removed.
This should then solve the error message and will then save your design and redirect you to your portfolio.
If you have tried to follow this process but it is still not saving, please get in contact with us so that we can have a look for you.
